Government promotes production of local SMEs in the region

This new meeting is part of the permanent meetings of the highest authorities of the Foreign Ministry with businessmen from the most diverse sectors who participated in trade missions promoted by the ministry that presides over santiago cafiero.

Like all trade missions designed and coordinated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship, the Argentine delegations maintained their federal character and were made up of 46 firms in total from Buenos Aires, Entre Ríos, Jujuy, Córdoba, Mendoza, Santa Faith, and the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires.

Cecilia Todesca Bocco was accompanied at the meeting by the Undersecretary for Trade and Investment Promotion, William Merediz, who highlighted “the recovery of exports” as something “remarkable”, remarked that “we are going to end 2022 around US$100,000 million adding goods and services”. This is important, given the need for the Government to add foreign currency to the reserves of the Central Bank.

For its part, Cecilia Todesca Bocco He stressed that “we have tools that work, such as missions, fairs, training, commercial intelligence reports and a network of embassies with officials who have the shirt on.”

In the case of the recent Chile trade mission, the aim was to promote the exports of Argentine companies linked to Software specialized in the Finance, Education and Health sectors (FinTech, EdTech and HealthTech), holding a total of 360 meetings with 30 Chilean companies throughout long 3 days.

For the sector, the Chilean market represents an attractive opportunity to generate international business given the advanced development of digital processes in the local economy. According to INDEC data, Argentine software exports to Chile exceed 70 million dollars annually.

In the mission to Bolivia, the trade delegation was made up of 11 companies from the food industry equipment sectors, which held 92 meetings with 54 counterparts from Bolivia, which represents an attractive and thriving market for the sector. In fact, between 2020 and mid-2022, 10.4 million dollars were registered in exports from Argentina to Bolivia in the sectors of the products offered by the participating companies.

Additionally, institutional activities were carried out with the participation of Banco Nación de la República Argentina, the main Bolivian companies in the sector, and authorities from the Santa Cruz Chamber of Industry, Commerce, Services and Tourism (CAINCO), the Argentine- Boliviana and the Bolivian Institute for Standardization and Quality (IBNORCA).

The event was attended by Ataway, Datalytics SRL, Mindhub Sas, Block Chain AR, Virtual Sense and Consensus, from the fintech/edtech sectors; together with HealthCare and the companies Bombadur, Edelflex, ILPA, Metfree, Systel, Free Beer and Frío Premium. Representatives of the Sectoral Brand of Machinery for the Food Industry linked to the beverage, industrial refrigeration and packaging sectors were also present.

Visit of Santiago Cafiero to SMEs in the export sector

In this framework, on Monday, August 22 at 12 noon, Foreign Minister Santiago Cafiero, together with the Mayor of Pilar, Federico Achával, and the Undersecretary for Trade and Investment Promotion, Guillermo Merediz, will visit the production plant of Laboratorios Kemex SRL, a SME in the dynamic export segment that, with the support of the National State, exports 50% of its production to more than 15 countries, with an annual volume of USD 11.5 million.

The company located in the Pilar Industrial Park was founded in 2004 and is dedicated to the manufacture of medicines for human use and pharmaceutical products, employing 226 people.
