The AFIP detects cases of labor exploitation in the forestry industry of Misiones

During the procedure, the agencies were able to verify that in both rural properties “the majority of the workers spent the night in a metal box” and “they did not have an installed bathroom or shower to clean themselves,” according to the AFIP in a statement.

Likewise, “the water available for drinking was in a tank” and the workers “cooked and ate in a tent” without having “electricity or a first aid kit on site.”

As a result of the procedure, the staff of the AFIP’s Committee to Fight Trafficking and Exploitation of Persons filed the corresponding complaints after gathering the necessary evidence.

In case of complaints for reduction to servitude or labor exploitation, the AFIP recalled that the line 0800-999-3368 option 3 or the e-mail túlaboral@afip.gob.ar are available as means of communication.
