Baskets for tomorrow’s draw (17:00 in continental Portugal) of the Champions League group stage have been determined. FC Porto, Sporting CP and Benfica will be the representatives of Portugal: the Dragons, as national champions of one of the top six UEFA countries, will be seeded, while the Lions and Eagles will take the third pot.
The play-offs ended tonight, as a result of which Glasgow Rangers, Copenhagen and Dinamo Zagreb qualified for the three remaining places in the group stage. As usual, teams from the same country, as well as teams from Ukraine and Belarus, cannot be in the same group.
Being in Pot 1, Porto soon avoids many of the major European sharks, a scenario already very hard to avoid for Sporting CP and Benfica, who see many of the Old Continent’s top clubs in Pots 1 and 2.
