Government advances in the tech monotax for freelancers

Government advances in the tech monotax for freelancers

The measure is part of the “dollar manufacturing machine” concept promoted by Economy Minister Sergio Massa.

Now, the implementation of a special monotax for freelancers in the technology sector is expected: the goal is for these professionals to liquidate the dollars they earn for their work in the official market.

Technological freelancers who export liquidate the dollars through the alternative market, since in the official market, the ticket is at $143, but financial prices operate well above that figure and are around $300.

The Secretary of Knowledge Economy, Ariel Sujarchuk, stressed in recent days that “it is a measure that must be taken with intelligence and we are analyzing it well.”

The intention is to facilitate the conditions for a sector whose work is in high demand from abroad, but due to existing regulations there are obstacles that make business difficult.

This “tech monotax” will only be for those who invoice foreign companies and not for those who work with local firms.

The measure is in line with the one adopted two months ago by the Central Bank, which allowed these workers to have up to US$12,000 in bank accounts without going through the exchange market to be liquidated.

Along these lines, the Ministry also plans to relaunch the “Argentina Programa” plan to generate at least 70,000 new programmers in a year.

Also, This portfolio analyzes granting a fiscal credit bonus for the payment of taxes equivalent to 70% of employer contributions for companies registered in the Registry of the Knowledge Economy.
