CAME asked Secretary Bahillo for specific policies for regional economies

During the meeting with Bahillo, the small and medium-sized businessmen handed him the bill from Senator Nora del Valle Giménez, which, as specified, “provides for the expansion of social security for temporary and permanent discontinuous rural workers in regional SMEs.” .

CAME also highlighted that the implementation of Decree 514/2021, and at the impulse of the entity together with the senator, “it was possible to respond to the problem” and both rural workers and agricultural producers were favored.

Alfredo González maintained that “we are about to start the great harvests that demand a lot of labor. The 625,000 temporary workers that the regional economies demand require the security of labor rights and social benefits.”

However, the holder of CAME claimed for the decoupling that is generated with the Alimentar card, since said allocation is not contemplated in the aforementioned decree.

Also, reference was made to the need to implement a single tax account for productions, “in order to cancel tax, social security and customs debt” and to reduce the tax burden for electro-dependents, and lastly, access to credits with terms longer than the current ones.

In this sense, Secretary Bahillo highlighted “the importance of dialogue with the different actors to promote actions within the framework of a consensus” and continued: “In this way, regional economies will be strengthened through the addition of value and the generation of employment.”

Regarding the use of energy, there was a claim for a reduction in the values for electricity and gas for productive use. “It was proposed that the VAT rate on the final cost of each service be established at 10.5%, but also an elimination of taxes and/or collections from third parties that are presented as hidden charges in the invoices,” they reported.

Also, along with the raised proposals, the CAME leaders expressed concern about the lack of supplies for production, especially bottles, cardboard and diesel. “We must support regional producers so that they stay in their places. This generates roots and dynamism in local economies,” González concluded.

Also participating were the Secretary of Food, Bioeconomy and Regional Development, Luis Contigiani, the Secretary General of CAME, Ricardo Diab, the Secretary of the Treasury, Blas Taladrid, the Secretary of Tourism, Gregorio Werchow, the Executive Director of Regional Economies of the entity, Pablo Vernengo, the directors Jorge Pazos and Román Tófalo, and the president of the Economic Federation of Entre Ríos, Silvio Farach.
