The industry completed 26 consecutive months of registered job creation

Of the 24 industrial branches, 21 created registered employment in June.

In June, 20 industrial branches registered higher employment compared to pre-pandemic levels, that is, December 2019. The ones that contributed the most to job creation are the food industry with 14,400, the automotive industry with 8,831, the rubber and plastic with 8,134, textiles with 7,037, metal products with 6,244 and machinery with 6,047.

For its part, the food industry reached the highest mark since 2018, with 333,000 positions. Meanwhile, the pharmaceutical sector exceeded 42,500 registered jobs, the highest mark since there is a record.

Formal employment in the production of machinery reached 56,500 formal jobs, which is also the best figure in the last four years, with a historical record in agricultural machinery. In the naval industry, the highest level of employment was reached since 2016. And, in the steel industry, rubber and plastic, construction materials, household appliances, the automotive sector and the textile industry, the level of employment in June 2022 was the best since 2018.

The improvement data for industrial employment are consistent with those for manufacturing production. In June 2022, factory production was 14.6% higher than that of December 2019.
