Gabriel Rubinstein was formally appointed Secretary of Economic Programming

According to the measure, Rubinstein has held that position since last Monday, replacing Karina Angeletti, who served in the same role during the brief management of Silvina Batakis at the Ministry of Economy.

Her resignation was accepted as of August 4 in the same decree, which bears the signatures of President Alberto Fernández and the Minister of Economy Serge Massa.

Rubinstein thus becomes Vice Minister of Economy and the confirmation of his arrival in office was the one that took the longest within the new economic team.

Just last Sunday, on Twitter, Massa commented that “To confirm the secretary of Economic Programming, we had to wait for the person we elected to resolve a family issue and dissolve his contractual responsibilities incompatible with the public function.”

The chosen one was Rubinstein, who immediately and through the same social network thanked the minister and assured that “with professionalism and passion, I will offer the best, in the face of the challenges that we have to face.”

“I also want to highlight the government’s breadth of joining the team despite abusive comments on my part on social networks that it was not appropriate to make”recognized the brand new official of the Ministry, who had made very offensive comments public against the Government and, in particular, against Vice President Cristina Kirchner.

The now number two of the Ministry of Economy is an orthodox economist who between 2022 and 2005 was director of the Central Bank, during Roberto Lavagna’s management in the economic portfolio. In addition, he has extensive experience in the private sector as an economic consultant.

The official will be in charge of designing macroeconomic policies and appears as the one who will be in charge of having a fluid relationship with IMF directors.
