Due to the conflict, which has been unresolved for more than two weeks, the buses on the affected lines do not circulate between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m., while on the rest of the days they operate with reduced frequencies, similar to those on Saturdays, about 30% less than on a normal day.
The measure of force is headed by the Business Chamber of Passenger Transport (CEAP), the Business Chamber of Urban Transport of Buenos Aires (Cetuba) and the Chamber of Transport of the Province of Buenos Aires (Ctpba), which they argue delays in the payment of subsidies despite the transfers made from the Nation to remedy these situations.
“The CNRT has already notified and instructed all the companies and business chambers to restore all services and frequencies,” Arteaga explained.
Within the framework of these measures, the CNRT “issued more than 106 infraction records for $18 million, for non-compliance with the lack of service, especially between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. and also for the lack of daily frequency between 6 and 20”, he specified.
Likewise, he indicated that the Buenos Aires government was also notified “so that they restore the debt of approximately $1,300 million with the urban transport system as the province of Buenos Aires and the National Ministry of Transport have been doing.”
In this context, the official stressed that it is “an employer conflict” and not a “labour” one, due to “a debt that subsists after the departure of the Minister (of Economy), Martín Guzmán”.
The same, which totals $11,000 million, is being “ordered and gradually cancelled” by the national government, assured Arteaga and indicated that during the past week a payment of “$3,900 million” was already made.
Finally, he reiterated that the bus system in the AMBA is “oversized” since the data from the SUBE system indicate that there are still 800,000 fewer passengers than in 2019 while maintaining the same amount of fleet as in that year.
