Hypo profit in half-year down slightly

The bank announced this in a broadcast today, Tuesday. “With our successful activities in customer business, we were able to cushion the difficult external conditions very well,” General Director Klaus Kumpfmüller is quoted as saying, alluding to the general economic development in times of pandemic and war. For the year as a whole, Kumpfmüller expects “a good result that should be slightly below the level of the previous year”.

The financing volume increased by 180 million to 5.78 billion euros. People are particularly satisfied with the large customer segment (plus 6.5 percent to 3.1 billion euros) and with the privately financed residential construction projects (plus 16 percent to 131 million euros). This underscores “our position as the number one housing bank in Upper Austria,” says Kumpfmüller.

Although Hypo continues to rate its risk in the lending business as comparatively low, loan risk provisions were increased as a precautionary measure: the balance sheet reported EUR 16.3 million as of June 30 of this year, compared to EUR 14.1 million at the turn of the year.

Savings and giro deposits have increased since the turn of the year by 16.3 percent to 2.26 billion euros. Net interest income before risk provisions increased by 17 percent to EUR 34.4 million, and net commission income by 2.9 percent to EUR 8.6 million. The balance sheet total of Hypo Oberösterreich as of June 30 was EUR 8.06 billion (December 31, 2021: EUR 8.16 billion).
