Argentine and Chilean companies met to strengthen direct investments

Likewise, the Foreign Ministry coordinates the sale of products abroad in the 2022 Export Promotion Plan, which includes 280 actions for this year, including the participation of our country in international fairs, the holding of business rounds, trade missions, technological offer and sector positioning actions.

In addition, a work of federal scope was carried out and, together with the provinces, sectors with potential for the realization of Productive Chains have been identified: Software, Audiovisual Products and Medical Equipment (Córdoba); Citrus (Entre Ríos); Machinery for the food industry -dairy, meat, drinks- (Santa Fe); Fresh fruits, Canned fruits and vegetables, Oenological inputs and Software-tourism (Mendoza).

On the other hand, and as a result of work carried out by the Center for International Economy of the Argentine Foreign Ministry, it has been identified that the potential to establish linkages is concentrated in meat –including fish–, dairy products, fruits and vegetables; aluminum, chemical products and sugars, among others.

The meeting also highlighted the objective of “continuing to deepen the work of identifying sectors and the consequent consultations with the private sector”.

In addition, they highlighted that “the celebration of this business meeting constitutes the corollary of an intense intergovernmental work, during which Argentina and Chile advanced in the methodologies for the identification of products that could be part of regional and global value chains, holding meetings face-to-face and virtual between officials from Argentina and Chile, as well as consultations with the private sector and the holding of seminars”.

Likewise, they participated in the teams of both countries, headed in the case of Argentina by the Undersecretary of Mercosur and International Economic Negotiations, Federico González Pierini and for Chile, Álvaro Espinoza, head of the Value Chains Division of the Undersecretary of Economic Relations.
