The sale of 0Km vehicles grew by 19.2% year-on-year in August

In the eight accumulated months of the year, 286,489 units were patented, 4.1% more than in the same period of 2021, in which 275,303 vehicles had been registered.

The president of ACARA, Ricardo Salomé commented: “The 37,882 registrations in August are of enormous value since they occur at the maximum peak of restrictions on imported parts and vehicles, which until 8/27 of the month had shown a low number. The effort of the entire value chain continues to be extraordinary, despite the difficulties we are working with a horizon of sustainability, for which the automotive industry works in coordination with the state”.

“With what is produced in the country today we supply 55% of the cars that are patented,” said Salomé, adding that “this was always an old dream of the sector and it is a trend that is here to stay. If customers adapt to the existing supply, dominated by national models, they can stretch their savings very conveniently”.

The sector projects that the year will end with 20,000 units less than projected at the beginning of the year.

“But the loss could have been much greater, that’s why we chose to focus on what we have been achieving month after month despite everything,” he added. Salome.
