In addition, treatment is extended differential of the tax on Credits and Debits (known as check tax) for employers in the sector, although the aliquots are increased: they go from 2.50 per thousand to 3.38 per thousand for credits and debits in checking accounts and go from 5 per thousand to 6.75 per thousand for other operations.
The benefits include establishments and institutions related to health, including social security, mutual, prepaid, hospitals, outpatient services and diagnostic services.
The provisions were put in place on March 19, 2020 in Decree 300/2020 at the beginning of the coronavirus contagion in the country to alleviate the impact of the pandemic, and in order to “coordinate efforts” to guarantee the beneficiaries of the Health System “access to the necessary medical benefits”.
This is the eighth extension from its entry into force. The last one was in June and it was fixed only until August 31. It will now be in effect for six months until February 2023.
This Monday it was confirmed that the prepaid will rise 11.53% in October. It will be the eighth increase in the year and companies must inform their clients of the amount. Since the beginning of the year, the prepaid increases in March and April by 6% in each month, 8% in May, 10 in June and 4% in July.
