August shipments, which at the same time meant an increase of 6.9% compared to July, were made up of 1,226,646 tons destined for the domestic market (with an increase of 13.2% in the interannual comparison) and 5,114 for the export (59.5% drop compared to July 2021).
As there were no cement imports (as in the last 44 months) domestic consumption was once again equal to local dispatch, the report said.
While the entity’s provisional projections for all of 2022 show a level of 13.1 million tons (200,000 more than the July forecasts) which, if materialized, would represent a growth of 8% in relation to 2021 and, also, the highest volume of the last five years.
Construction recovered in July
The construction sector obtained in July a positive variation of 2.2% compared to the previous month, according to what was reported by the National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (INDEC).
Likewise, in the seventh month of the year, the Synthetic Indicator of Construction Activity (ISAC) showed an increase of 5.2% compared to the same month of 2021.
While in the accumulated index of the seven months of 2022, the original series index shows a rise of 6.3% compared to the same period in 2021.
