PNR soldier rescued a baby who choked on breast milk in a shopping mall

This Wednesday, a GNR soldier rescued a two-month-old baby who was choking on breast milk and unable to breathe at the Strada Outlet store in Odivelas, Lisbon.

According to the military, the woman’s cries of despair alerted those present around 21:30. The alarmed soldier asked what was happening, to which the lady replied that the child was suffocating.

The soldier, given that he had enough knowledge, took the child and managed to clear his airways on the second attempt.

When volunteer firefighters from Odivelas arrived, the child was doing well, but was taken to the Beatriz Angelo hospital in Loures for observation, taking into account the time he was not breathing.
