Massa met with IMF director Kristalina Georgieva

The official entered the offices of the international organization in Washington accompanied by the Deputy Minister of Economy, Gabriel Rubinstein; the president of the Central Bank, Miguel Angel Pesce; the head of the National BankSilvina Batakis; and the head of INDEC, Marco Lavagna, among others. At the end of last July, Georgieva had received Batakis in Washington when the Argentine economist was serving as head of the Palacio de Hacienda to replace Martín Guzmán, who had resigned from the post days earlier.

Later, after the meeting, there will be a meeting with the teams, for which the entire Argentine delegation will attend the IMF, according to official sources.

Prior to the meeting with the head of the IMF, Massa held a meeting with the Secretary of the United States Treasury, Janet Yellenand his adviser David Liptonat the agency’s headquarters.

According to the minister’s response to the journalists covering his international tour, this meeting was “very good.”

Massa, who was in the meeting for almost an hour and a half, first entered the meeting alone with Yellen and Lipton and then the rest of the Argentine delegation entered.
