Subterráneos de Buenos Aires (SBASE) approved through the resolution No. 17/22, published today in the Official Gazettethe update of the subway rate.
The modification of the tariff table was discussed and approved in the public hearing held on August 26with the aim of continuing to guarantee the maintenance and proper functioning of the service, and in line with the tariff update implemented by the national government for the rest of the public transport of the AMBA.
The update, as assured, “responds to the variation of the technical rate, which reflects the cost of operating the service” and that “since the last presentation, these costs have increased by 159%.”
“This situation, added to the drop in demand as a result of the pandemic -currently, there are around 70% of the number of passengers in 2019- makes it necessary to adjust the ticket to guarantee the proper functioning of the service and to focus on a system of sustainable public transport”, evaluated the company Subterráneos de Buenos Aires.
It was noted that the RED SUBE discount and the benefit for frequent passengers will continue to apply. Thus, while the user travels the most, discounts of 20%, 30% and 40% are applied once they exceed 20, 30 or 40 monthly trips, respectively.
