In his speech, Giuliano had words of gratitude “to the Port Council, for the work they have carried out in these 30 years, in what means the union of our ports throughout the country”, and added that “we are convinced that, by improving logistics with multimodality as the north, we are going to achieve greater growth for our country and our people”.
“This is a great moment for the national government to contribute the views of President Alberto Fernández and Minister Alexis Guerrera, with the conviction that working, designing and projecting on the port system is to fully develop our country, with a strong development of regional economies,” the official added.
For his part, Nuri Sánchez Edorna said that “there are millions of issues that occupy us every day. And from the Undersecretariat, being able to provide solutions, change regulations, be able to carry out shorter procedures and procedures that are agile and we are not fighting because they do not come out, is the approach that we want to give”.
During the day, various talks were held where issues pertinent to river and sea ports were discussed, as well as issues related to cruise ships, containers, fishing, and other issues that concern the sector.
The Argentine Port Council is an organization that brings together all the Argentine ports to coordinate the activity of the sector and defend the interests of each port entity. It fulfills a fundamental function as a forum for discussion and helps in the training of new Port officials. In addition to being recognized as a permanent consultation body for the Executive and Legislative Powers, union entities and the sector in general.
The event was also attended by the Undersecretary of Ports, Waterways and Merchant Marine, Leonardo Cabrera; the vice governor of Chubut, Ricardo Sastre; the administrator of Puerto Madryn, Enrique Calvo; and the president of the Argentine Port Council, Carla Monrabal; among other representatives of institutions that are part of the CPA such as the Argentine Navy, the Argentine Naval Prefecture, the Naval Hydrography Service, and the Argentine Association of Port Engineers.
