“Also, applying more fertilizers, more supplies and, above all, seed technology, and then start adding all precision agriculture,” he added.
The president of Acsoja maintained that the soybean sector has “a lot to grow in productivity and move this country forward with a bigger cake without implying defunding the State.”
The latter, he remarked, “generates a confusion of saying that if we lower the withholdings, the State is defunded, but no.”
“If we go to a reasonable level of withholdings, production will grow so much that the State will collect much more, generating more dollars to import, getting out of the trap that Argentina suffers periodically and entering a virtuous circle of a country that it empowers the sectors where it is competitive”, he explained.
Zubizarreta stated that “if agribusiness does well, the effect on the entire economy will reach everyone’s pocket because we are going to generate real money that will roll around in society and where we will all benefit, generating, in addition, , genuine employment”.
When asked about the soybean dollar, the soy farmer highlighted “the quick reaction that the chain has when they give it something a little reasonable”, alluding to the incentive proposed by the Ministry of Economy.
“We see that this has been successful within the objective that the Government had, which was to collect reserves and dollars,” he said, adding that he thinks that “it will pass” the initial objective of US$5,000 set by the Executive.
In reference to the next Acsoja Seminar, to be held next Thursday at the Rosario Stock Exchange, Zubizarreta revealed that the three governors of the Central Region (Santa Fe, Entre Ríos and Córdoba) were invited so that this area “takes the torch to become the league of agro-industrial provinces and for the private sector to work together with the provinces on an agro-industrial agenda”.
