During his work as a master tinsmith, Thomas Stadler often had to deal with the same problem: water that has entered flat roofs and is only discovered after months or even years. The damage caused is usually considerable, and it is not uncommon for the entire roof to have to be removed.
This gave rise to the idea of ”Roofsec”, a flat roof monitoring system with a sensor system that immediately locates and reports leaks. “If water gets in, the system sends a self-generated 3D model of the roof with the position of the leak to the owner,” says Stadler.
The leak can thus be closed in the shortest possible time and the costs can be kept low. The software interprets the data completely independently with the help of artificial intelligence. According to Stadler, the technology is unique and the patent procedures have already been completed.
potential to grow
The sensors can be attached by any plumbing or roofing company. To date, Roofsec, which now consists of a four-person team, has fitted around 50 roofs with this system. Now the company wants to expand sales and increase awareness in what Stadler says is a “rather innovation-resistant industry”. A stake “in the mid-six-figure range” from CFP-Holding and investor Ewald Wahlmüller should help. (fep)
