The total amount of precautionary measures requested was US$156.7 million, of which only 23% was used.

Having verified that the company kept stock of imported merchandise, Customs went to court to revoke the injunctions granted because one of the essential requirements had not been verified: the danger of delay in granting the judicial benefit.
These requested precautionary measures did not respond to emergencies or prevent a possible danger in delay since the company has authorizations available through judicial channels that double its historical import maximums.
The objective of the company is to overstock merchandise at the official dollar value.
“Unfair competition”
This maneuver fuels unfair competition with respect to other competitors since, through this judicial benefit, the company managed to gain an exorbitant portion of the market.
“The abusive use of precautionary measures threatens production and work in our country. Above all, we must take care of Argentine employment” said the Director General of Customs, William Michael.
It is not the first maneuver of this type that Customs has detected in recent times. Many companies resort to a similar methodology to release imports and force the BCRA to issue official dollars.
This last year, the institution had made summonses to 500 companies to give explanations for facts of these characteristics.
