The state building guild of the Chamber of Commerce warned of fatal consequences: “Private residential building would come to a complete standstill and commercial and industrial construction would have to be expected with massive restrictions,” said state guild master Norbert Hartl. He called on politicians to take action. Energy cost subsidies and electricity price compensation are now needed. Without support at the political level, a massive wave of insolvencies among domestic construction companies can be expected.
Governor Thomas Stelzer yesterday also called for rapid help from the federal government and the EU because of the energy costs and a Europe-wide solution: “Massive interventions are now needed in the energy market, because everyone must be aware that Europe will not remain competitive with these energy prices.”
