The most creative start-up entrepreneurs in Germany will receive the German Entrepreneur Award on this evening in Berlin. An initiative from stern, the savings banks, Porsche and ZDF. Follow the award ceremony now in the live stream.
At the beginning of every start-up there is usually a crazy idea. A dream. A vision. But who are the people who make such dreams come true? Who fight for their ideas and convince others of them? Who are giving up secure careers, collecting money from banks, investors, in social networks, putting together smart teams and creating new jobs?
Choice from hundreds of expert suggestions
In this livestream you will get to know six women and men who have achieved all of this with their start-ups. For this they will receive the German Founders Award (DGP) on this evening in Berlin, an initiative from stern, the savings banks, Porsche and ZDF. From hundreds of expert suggestions, three finalists each were selected in several jury rounds for the categories start-up (companies up to three years after the establishment) and climbers (up to nine years). They then faced the final jury made up of managers and journalists.
The spectrum of their business ideas ranges from rocket science to minimal shoes, from hydrogen technologies to human firewalls against cyber attacks. It is always about solutions to pressing social problems. Climate change. Sustainability. Data security. The start-up founders care about the world in which they live.
Founding teams have 15 minutes for their pitch
The six teams had 15 minutes for their pitch. You can now see who came in first here in the live stream. But all of the finalists won – each of them receives the start-up prize package, which includes media training at ZDF, advice from Porsche Consulting, a sponsorship program and access to the exclusive network of the German start-up prize. The board of trustees of the DGP includes such successful entrepreneurs as Stella Ahlers, Heinrich-Otto Deichmann, Günter Fielmann, Michael Otto, Alfred Ritter, Annette Roeckl, Götz Werner and many others.

In addition to the best founders, every year the DGP also honors personalities who have shaped Germany in a special way with their companies.
