In the official configuration, in “level 1” were households with high purchasing power (income above $390,000 per month) who do not need help to pay the bills.
At Level 2, they were included low income people. There are around 6.5 million subscribers and they will not have increases. This group included those who receive the social rate.
Meanwhile, middle-income households are part of Level 3. There are 2.5 million that will maintain the subsidy and they will only pay a higher rate if they exceed the consumption limit of 400 kWh per month, in the case of electrical energy.
At the same time, the Executive Power determined that users with higher incomes will stop receiving the state contribution in three stages: 20% in September and the rest in November and January. The complete removal will be effective in 2023 but the impact of the rate will be reflected from October.
From the government it was reported that, by August 16 of the current year, there were already 5,839,525 presentations from users of the natural gas network service and 9,282,320 presentations from users of the public electricity service. They estimate that 30% of users will pay for it.
