Government confirms that it analyzes a bond for vulnerable sectors

As confirmed by this medium, the benefit will be granted before the end of the year. However, the scope of the initiative has yet to be defined.

This Friday the so-called “soybean dollar” ends and, as Economy Minister Sergio Massa promised, part of the proceeds will finance the bond for the most vulnerable sectors. This proposal was key to, at the beginning of September, keeping Patria Grande, the space led by Juan Grabois, within the Frente de Todos.

The social leader then assured that Vice President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner told him in advance that part of the money collected for the soybean dollar would go to sectors that are in a situation of indigence.

Yesterday, the former president used her social networks to insist on assistance to the most economically affected population, and spoke in favor of “a more precise and effective intervention policy in the economic sector” to combat inflation and its derivations.

“Indec today publishes data on the decline in poverty from 37.3% to 36.5% in the first half of 2022. However, in the same period indigence increased from 8.2% to 8.8%, This shows the impact of the sharp increase in food prices,” he warned through a Twitter thread.

In this framework, he pointed out that “it is more than clear” that Argentina is “facing a phenomenon of inflation due to supply and not due to demand.” “Food companies have increased their profit margins very strongly,” he remarked.

Given this scenario, he considered that “The Ministry of Economy has worked hard in all areas of its competence, but a more precise and effective policy of intervention in the sector is necessary”.

Lastly, the Vice President proposed “designing an instrument that reinforces food security in terms of indigence.”
