Martín Tetaz presented a project so that educational expenses are deductible

Budget

“The deduction would correspond both to the payment of tuition for schools, language institutes and training of all kinds, as well as investments for educational purposes, such as books or computers,” he explained in a statement.

In this regard, he stated that the money laundering proposed by the 2023 Budget opened a debate within the Chamber of Deputies: evaders are once again benefited and those who comply are not rewarded.

“We need measures that directly benefit those who pay their taxes. Today we find that more and more families are forced to migrate to private schools,” declared the legislator.

In that sense, he argued that “the least we can do is take a measure with a direct impact that allows us to counteract the expense generated by the absence of quality public education.”

“Education is an investment and results in a benefit for the future of the country, sufficient reasons to make it a deductible,” concluded Tetaz.

The bill was accompanied by the signatures of the National Deputies Pablo Torello, Omar De Marchi, Laura Castets, Sofía Brambilla, Lidia Ascarate, Florencia Klipauka, Alejandro Finocchiaro, Ana Clara Romero, Ingrid Jetter, Carlos Zapata, Rubén Manzi, Anibal Tortoriello , Gerardo Cipolini, Danya Tavela, Gabriela Brouwer De Koning, Ana Clara Carrizo, Marcela Antola and Susana Laciar.

The spirit of the project is similar to that of one presented in August by Emiliano Yacobitti, a UCR legislator and fellow Tetaz caucus.

That letter contemplated the discount of the Income Tax to the expenses related to education, such as materials, support classes, language classes, school transportation.
