“Who will be a visionary?” – GEO is looking for the most sustainable idea in Germany
Unique fashion items made from rubbish, technological innovations, sustainable packaging, culinary ideas with a view to the local biodiversity and much more: a three-member jury is looking for the new podcast “Who will be a visionary?” from GEO the best, sustainable idea in Germany. In the first round, the participants face the jury’s spontaneous decision with short audio pitches.
In the second round, the participants compete against each other and have to face the jury’s critical questions, such as: How big is the actual impact? Has social sustainability also been taken into account? And: Do the sustainability experts trust the idea to make a big breakthrough?
With each episode, the tension rises as to who and which idea will make it into the last three, in the big voting final. You can win exclusive coverage in GEO, your own podcast episode and 5000 euros in prize money.
In order to be accepted for the show, applicants had to send in an audio pitch of a maximum of two minutes, in which they should inspire the jury with their idea. The participants include start-ups, research groups and established companies from the food sector; Fashion / beauty; public room; Packaging and digital / technology.
Members of the jury are Mimi Sewalski, author and managing director of the “Avocadostore”, the largest marketplace for sustainable fashion and products; Paul Bethke, the founder of Lemonaid and Charitea, and Katharina Schmitz, GEO editor-in-chief of the “Nature and Sustainability” section.
Katharina Schmitz: “The jury discusses hard with one another, because each of us has a different point of view: It is particularly important to Paul that the ideas are new and well thought out from a business perspective. Mimi has the big picture: There is no topic from the complex of ‘sustainability’ on which she has not written a book chapter, given a keynote or read something. I focus on ecological sustainability and the scientific nature of the ideas. “
The grand finale is ultimately decided by a voting on GEO.de: the listeners choose their best sustainable idea from three finalists.
