Homes and businesses in La Rioja will be able to produce their electricity with solar energy

This initiative, according to the agencies involved in the program, seeks to motivate the community to become users that generate the energy they consume.

For this reason, lines of credit are launched at a very low rate through Banco Rioja and Fogaplar, in order to bring solar energy closer to the common user.

The head of the Technology area of the Arauco Wind Farm, Pablo Noriega, said that “the basic and general concept of energy is distributed, but now there is the possibility of generating energy at a decentralized point. Normally the consumption we use for homes, shops or farms, is given by a central that is the one who distributes it”.

“This concept comes to change these points and one acquires the possibility of generating energy at a nearby point, from a natural source such as the sun through the use of photovoltaic panels,” he added.

“It can be my home, my industry, my work where we can lighten the burden of the traditional network since I can consume energy from my own generation. This will allow us to access key benefits for the final consumer, which are self-sufficiency , and also inject energy into the central grid,” Noriega explained.

“In a first stage, it seeks to add through financing 500 productive enterprises and 100 commercial and residential users,” he said.

“Regarding the administrative part of the line of credits, the first step is carried out through the platform www.tramitesadistancia.gob.ar, from where the request is issued through a form that must be completed to obtain the energy power reserve, which is the first step to becoming a generating user,” the official assured.

“This form then reaches the distribution entity, Edelar (Energy Company of La Rioja), the entity approves the request and the user is automatically enabled to continue with the second part of the process, which is to order the bidirectional meter,” he said. .

“And this meter is basically the one that will allow entering the measurement scheme not only for energy consumption, but also for the generation of energy that is produced through this system,” he added.

He then stated that “this is innovative because everyone will be able to supply themselves with solar energy and eventually contribute energy to the central grid, which would be financially remunerated to users. The first on-grid park developed under this modality is currently in operation.”

“This project is located in the Finca Vista Larga in Sanagasta, which has managed to far exceed generation expectations. It has become the most representative farm producing crops such as vines, olives and walnuts in La Rioja, and a sustainable company and socially responsible,” Pablo Noriega finally said.
