Sergio Massa travels to the United States with a focus on exports, investments and reserves

The three technical officials will accompany Massa in the meetings with IMF authorities. First, with Ilan Goldfajn, Director of the IMF’s Western Hemisphere Department, and then with Gita Gopinath, Deputy Managing Director of the Fund.

The agency approved the second review of the Extended Facilities Agreement last week, so In the next few days, the equivalent of some US$3.8 billion will arrive in the country in Special Drawing Rights (SDR) . In addition, in the official statement, the agency gave positive signals regarding the goals for the third quarter that, if exceeded, will imply a disbursement of US$5.8 billion (4.5 billion in SDRs).

Finally, they do not rule out holding bilateral meetings with representatives of the Paris Club during the tour. The Government seeks to restructure a debt of US$2,000 million that currently has a high interest rate (9% per year). Payments to creditor countries were suspended pending an agreement.
