“We give the industry a voice,” says Elisabeth Krainz-Blum, the new platform’s retail chairwoman. She is the managing director of “Mein Müli” on Pfarrplatz in Linz, which she has run since 2009. The “real organic traders”, as Krainz-Blum says, do not feel that they are optimally represented by the Chamber of Commerce. There is not even extra recorded data on sales and sales area of the organic retail trade. That will now be made up for as soon as possible. The forum currently has 30 members; It should be 150. The organic wholesale trade is represented by Horst Moser from Biogast.
The association, which was founded in Vienna in the summer, will officially present itself on November 12th at the Bio Austria trade fair in Wieselburg. “These are challenging times. We want to learn from each other,” says Andrea Kastinger from the Kremstal organic farm shop in Kirchdorf. (haase)
