In this way, it is guaranteed that the Turbo Gas can operate and ensure the availability of energy generation for the electrical system in the Atlantic coast region.

Thus, it was indicated that the task is carried out under the supervision and support of technicians from the General Electric company.

In addition to scheduled maintenance -which includes inspection of hot gases and replacement of internal parts-, the renovation of the main control system, robotic inspection of the generator, tests of the power transformer, calibration of sensors, maintenance of electric motors, cleaning of radiators, change of filters and painting of structures.

The investment made by the majority state-owned company for this maintenance reaches US$7.5 million, and will allow the unit to complete a new useful life cycle for a period of 3 years without relevant stops, which will increase the rate of availability.

The Oscar Smith Power Plant, belonging to CCA SA, is located at route 11 kilometer 412 in the town of General Madariaga, and its generating park is made up of 4 Turbo Gas Units: TG11, TG14, TG16 and TG18 that reach a Total Installed Power of 130MW.
