“Glossy Dreams” in the test: conclusion
If there was a price for the most popular shoe of all time, the sneaker would be right up there. Hardly any other shoe is as versatile as the sporty footwear. If you like your sneakers, you care. Means to keep it clean and protect it from wind and weather. Founder Lina Bouhmidi developed an impregnation pen for shoe seams for this purpose. The product is called “Glossy Dreams”. The pen, which looks somewhat reminiscent of a Edding marker, has so far been available for white and black shoe seams. Read here whether the invention can prove itself in the test.
This is behind the idea of ”Glossy Dreams”
Founder of “Glossy Dreams” Lina Bouhmidi identified a problem in her everyday life: sneakers get dirty quickly, especially around the seams. To avoid buying a new one, Bouhmidi wanted to develop a sustainable solution. So dirty shoes shouldn’t be bought new, but with the can be freed from dirt in a targeted manner.

The idea behind “Glossy Dreams” sounds simple but effective. After all, it is much more sustainable to clean your own sneakers than to dispose of them in the trash and buy new ones. Two questions arise right at the beginning: Are shoe seams dirty and if so, how often do they have to be cleaned?
To answer this question, three pairs of white sneakers must be spotted. Unfortunately, black copies are not available for the test because the tester’s shoe cabinet does not have them (a test of other results). The test shoes are a very classic model made of leather from a shoe brand with three stripes.
In order to achieve a good result, according to the instructions, coarse dirt should first be removed with a damp cloth so that the seams can then be worked on with “Glossy Dreams”. Finally let it dry for 30 to 40 seconds and the sneakers should look like new. Thanks to the treatment with the impregnation pen, future soiling should also be prevented.
The oldest white sneakers are ideal for the practical test. A first look reveals that the shoe seams are a little darker than the rest of the shoe, but surprisingly clean for a gestation period of five years including hikes through dusty national parks in the USA. Despite low pollution, it should prove oneself. The impregnation stick is applied to the shoe seams with light pressure. It works very easily because it can be placed on the shoe seam as easily as a Edding marker. The liquid does not run when it is applied and is white in color. Then it is time to wait and let it dry.

“Glossy Dreams” in the test: conclusion
The shoe seam is dry after the announced 30 to 40 seconds. The seam is a little lighter than before. So the pen is having an impact. Nevertheless, the effect on the entire shoe is small. On the one hand, this could be due to the fact that the seam was not very dirty and, on the other hand, that the narrow shoe seam does not affect the look of the shoe. But if you look very closely, you should see an effect. It is difficult to answer whether it is due to the sneakers or whether the shoes must be more soiled. The assumption is that seams do not get dirty as quickly and that specific cleaning is rarely necessary. For use at home, when the shoes shouldn’t shine, as if they had just walked over the counter, the product is therefore likely to be rarely used. But there are so-called “sneaker nerds” – fans of sporty shoes who invest a lot of money and take great care of their shoes. “Glossy Dreams” should hit a nerve there, because the product is ideal for treating sneakers with great precision.
Can founder Lina Bouhmidi also convince the lions with her “Glossy Dreams” idea? On the table tonight are 12 percent company shares for 75,000 euros. You can see how the pitch ends at 8:15 p.m. on VOX.
