The increases achieved will be paid in three installments: 8.5% from November, 8.5% from December and 5% from March. All percentages to be calculated on current salaries in October.
“This is an effort and work of all, especially of our unit, which is the greatest achievement. We continue to work in defense of the salary and for the well-being of our stevedoring family, that is why we have incorporated a new review instance”said Diego Corvalán, union secretary of SUPA.
The port stevedores union managed to incorporate into the agreement a new review and monitoring clause that will be activated in February and March 2023, to evaluate the inflationary process and determine new increases according to the needs of the workers.
Last June, the SUPA closed an initial agreement with salary increases of 60%, plus the payment of 15% for peer review 2021-2022. Also on that occasion, the payment of a year-end bonus of $250,000 was set, which was ratified today by the parties.
