The agreement that has now been reached affects the approximately 3,500 employees in the cabin and cockpit area. Effective January 1, 2023, the effective income will be reduced by reducing what was agreed for 2023 salary waiver from 12.73 percent to 4.73 percent by 8 percentage points, said an AUA spokeswoman when asked by APA. From June 1st, 2023 the salary waiver then completely reduced from 4.73 to 0 percent. In addition, from January 1, 2025 there will be a 7 percent increase in salary scales compared to May 2022, the spokeswoman said.

A Vida spokeswoman explained that the salaries of employees on board Austrian Airlines would rise by an average of 10.4 percent in the coming year. According to the union, the AUA had originally only offered 6.99 percent for 2023.

The staff of the AUA recently had to accept a savings package. Income was cut by 10.08 percent this year and should be reduced by 12.73 percent next year. These cuts are now being reversed again by the new KV conclusion.

The agreement that has now been reached only affects the flying personnel, the negotiations for the commercial and technical employees are still ongoing.
