In the case of fuel made with the oilseed, at the end of August the national government extended the increase in the cut of biodiesel with diesel to 12.5% for two months to reduce the shortages of the latter.

Likewise, a report from the Rosario Stock Exchange (BCR) estimated that in 2022 the export of biodiesel could be a record, since shipments until August reached 913,000 tons, with an income of US$ 1,363 million.

“If the annual export rate is maintained, 2022 could close with total biodiesel exports of 1.37 million tons with foreign exchange earnings that would exceed US$2 billion, a maximum in at least a decade,” the BCR said.

On the bioethanol side, the BCR estimated that a historic level of production could be reached, since in the January-July stretch of this year it reached a production of 384,000 m³, exceeding the previous historical maximum by 12.3%, while the increase compared to the first 7 months of 2021 was 32.4%.
