As the AUA press office explained, the works meeting also led to delays.

“Passengers who are affected by the adjustments and who provided a telephone number or email address when booking have already been proactively informed about flight adjustments and rebookings. In addition, passengers are asked to check the flight status on the website austrian.com in good time,” shared the press office. The airline emphasized that everything was done to keep the impact as low as possible.

An agreement was reached the day before during the collective bargaining for the flying personnel. Accordingly, the salary waiver from the corona pandemic should be gradually withdrawn by the middle of next year.

An agreement has now also been reached for the commercial and technical staff. Here, the board of directors and union also agreed on Wednesday to end the salary cut early, followed by salary increases in 2024 and 2025.

Specifically, the income for ground staff will increase on January 1, 2023 compared to now because part of the salary waiver will be withdrawn. As of June 1, 2023, the salary waiver will then come to an end. Salaries will then increase by 7 percent in 2024 and by a further 5.428 percent in 2025. There will be a whopping plus of 40 percent on average for apprentices in 2023.
