After the monetary policy decisions of the US Federal Reserve, the Dax expanded its most recent price gains on Thursday.

The Fed had met investor expectations the night before, and there were no negative surprises. Shortly after the Xetra launch on Thursday, the German benchmark index rose by 0.80 percent to 15,630.81 points.

The MDax of the medium-sized stock market values gained 0.91 percent to 35,525.36 points. The European benchmark index EuroStoxx 50 saw a similarly significant upward trend of 0.8 percent.

On Monday, at 15,019 points, the Dax had slipped to its lowest level since May, but had already ironed out its losses by the middle of the week.

The Fed is sticking to its very loose monetary policy for the time being, although as expected it is heading towards a less generous line. Because interest rates are still in the basement, there is no alternative to stocks for the time being, said analyst Jeffrey Halley from broker Oanda in the morning.
