After an unusually strong month on the stock markets in October, the German stock market also started November with price gains. As a result of rising prices on the Asian stock exchanges, the Dax rose by 1.17 percent to 13,409.38 points around noon on Tuesday. The leading index thus recorded a new high since mid-September.

In China and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region in particular, speculation about a departure from the Chinese regime’s zero-Covid policy led to significant price gains, which the markets in Germany followed to some extent. The MDax even gained 2.54 percent to 24,279.65 points, while the leading euro zone index, the EuroStoxx 50, gained 1.5 percent.

Last month, the Dax had one of the best October balance sheets in history with a gain of 9.4 percent. Even if the US Federal Reserve is expected to raise interest rates by another 0.75 percentage points on Wednesday, the hope that interest rate hikes will soon be less severe again has been considered decisive for the good performance of the stock exchanges for a few days.
