They affirm that the Buenos Aires manufacturing industry is having its best year since 2015

“Since March 2021, the province’s industrial activity has recorded persistent year-on-year growth,” said the Minister of Treasury and Finance, Pablo Lopez, who added that “the manufacturing industry of Buenos Aires is having its best year since 2015.”

“An integrated and inclusive province needs a thriving industry; therefore, supporting its growth has been one of our priorities since the beginning of Governor Axel Kicillof’s administration,” said the Buenos Aires official.

In a statement from the Treasury portfolio, it was also reported that in the accumulated of the first seven months of 2022 the increase was 7.0% compared to the same period of the previous year.

The Synthetic Indicator of the Manufacturing Industry (ISIM), prepared by the Provincial Directorate of Statistics, showed that in July 2022 eight of the eleven blocks that make up the ISIM-PBA had year-on-year increases.

The main variations, in order of incidence, were: Textiles and leather (25.5%); Oil refining (18.0%); Non-metallic minerals (26.9%); Chemicals (8.8%); Motor vehicles (11.8%); Food and beverages (1.7%); Rubber and plastic (4.7%), and Tobacco (10.8%).

The ISIM aims to have a monthly indicator that allows observing the behavior of provincial industrial activity and is constituted by monitoring the so-called Industrial Blocks. They are made up of groups of industrial activities with common characteristics, through monthly estimates on the provincial manufacturing sector based on information from the Monthly Industrial Survey carried out by INDEC and data obtained from own surveys carried out by said Directorate.
