Residential property: Dispute over charging stations and thermal insulation

Residential property: Dispute over charging stations and thermal insulation

Disputes over home ownership: photovoltaics on the roof, charging station in the garage, no more paying for petrol. Sounds easy. Not if you have to agree in owners’ meetings. It’s often about small things there, as our interlocutor reports.

Recorded by Bernhard Albrecht

“Are you still thinking about buying an apartment – despite the horrendous prices? Don’t! We* have been warned and haven’t heard. Because if you have an apartment, you’re dealing with ‘homeowners’ associations’, and that can be terrible. The annual meetings are like traffic jams, people shout, insult, nobody can finish, arguments are twisted in your mouth. But above all: Nothing is progressing! This is fatal in times of the great energy transition. A quarter of all apartments in Germany belongs to people like me – and we are currently being left behind.
