After the death of Red Bull founder Dietrich Mateschitz, his successor was unclear. The shower manufacturer has now found a new boss: Oliver Mintzlaff is moving from the in-house football club RB Leipzig to the parent company.

Bundesliga club RB Leipzig needs a new managing director. Oliver Mintzlaff is leaving the cup winner and, according to dpa information, will be moving to the Red Bull group on November 15. “Bild” had reported about it first. However, the 47-year-old should remain connected to the club.

There is no direct successor for the former track and field athlete, the cup winner would like to continue working with the existing structures.

Mintzlaff, who has been responsible for RB Leipzig since 2014, will be one of three new managing directors at the beverage company. He is to be responsible for the company’s sports activities with investments in football, ice hockey, Formula 1 and sailing, among other things, as well as the TV station Servus-TV. According to “Bild”, Mintzlaff is said to have received the post at the request of company founder Dietrich Mateschitz, who died on October 22nd.
