There are currently a total of 120 charging stations at Spar, Eurospar, Interspar and the SES Shopping Centers. By 2025, more than 200 charging stations, each with 2 to 6 charging points, are to be set up. The network will thus grow by 1,500 charging points. By 2028 there should be at least 535 charging locations.
Spar cooperates with the Federal Association for Electromobility Austria (BEÖ). The association, which is supported by some electricity suppliers, operates Austria’s largest network with 8,000 charging points, according to Spar and the Federal Association for Electromobility Austria in a broadcast. There are a total of 15,000 publicly accessible charging points in Austria.
The charging stations have a charging capacity of 11 to 150 kW, and up to 6 electric cars can be charged at the same time. The performance of the stations is based on the type of supermarket and the average length of time customers spend. According to this, quick charging stations would be set up primarily where customers only shop for a relatively short time. The charging stations can not only be used by BEÖ customers – you can also pay by credit card.
