“Retirement beats inflation,” celebrated the head of Anses, who assured that, in this way, the minimum assets will grow 107% throughout the year. She also recalled that, when she took office, retirees had lost 19.5% of their income in real terms during the Cambiemos administration. “We had to make a commitment to recover those lost points…”, she said.
For his part, Massa stressed: “A society that does not respect its elders is a society that has no future.” And he added: “Inflation in Argentina has become a very big problem for the vast majority of Argentines, but especially for retirees and pensioners…”. According to the National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (INDEC), the monthly inflation for September was 6.2%, while the interannual rate was 83%.
The minister remarked that, while trying to improve the macroeconomic variables to reduce the general rise in prices, they also intend to improve income.
“There are $155,000 million additional to what is the social security account, which the national State is going to put to reinforce retirement and pensions in December, January and February,” he detailed regarding the fiscal effort that the measure implies.
