Inflation is at its highest level since the 1950s. Interest rates are rising, but as an investor you still lose money in real terms. At the OÖN Money Day on Friday in the Linz Promenade Galleries, experts give tips and answer questions. Admission is free, registration is not required. The event will also be broadcast on nachrichten.at/geldtag. You can send questions to [email protected] in advance.

From 10 a.m. the Sparkasse’s Flip2Go bus will be on the promenade. From 10.30 a.m. you can get information at the booths of Palfinger, Hypo Oberösterreich, Münze Österreich, Vienna Insurance Group, Partner Bank, Sparkasse Oberösterreich, Oberbank and ITH Sonnberger.

In the morning, 300 students are guests to talk about their financial future with the economist Friedrich Schneider, Raiffeisenlandesbank general director Heinrich Schaller, blockchain investor Sebastian Holler and Dominik Huber from Young Shareholders. The further program:

“What is left of the money” (13–13.45) with Monika Köppl-Turyna (Director of the Institute Eco Austria, picture above), economic historian Roman Sandgruber, Stefanie Huber (Chairman of the Board of Sparkasse Oberösterreich) and Martin Seiter (Member of the Board of Oberbank).

“Why should I buy your shares?” – Listed companies will be put to the test twice (14:00–14:30 and 15:30–16:00). Guests are Sebastian Wolf (Rosenbauer CEO), Liana Hirner (CFO VIG), Andreas Klauser (CEO Palfinger) and Christopher Gabriel (Investor Relations Amag).

“Investment strategies in times of eleven percent inflation” (2.30 p.m. to 3.15 p.m.) will be given by CEO Klaus Kumpfmüller (Hypo Oberösterreich), CEO Josef Weißl (Bank and Insurance Division of the Upper Austrian Chamber of Commerce), CEO Andreas Fellner (Partner Bank) and Director Helmut Nuspl (Schoellerbank Linz).

“How high is my risk and what alternatives do I have as an investor?” (16:00-16:45) Answers will be provided by the Management Board Manfred Pammer (Athos), Andrea Lang (Head of Marketing Austrian Mint), Florian Beckermann (Interest Association of Investors) and Johann Penzenstadler (Head of the Upper Austria Region/Bankhaus Spängler).
