Perger Habau: First stage of the largest order in the history of the group completed

Habau announced in a press release today, Wednesday, that the six-lane A10 and the completely renovated A24 near Berlin have been free to travel since November 11th. The planning and construction phase lasted almost five years. The contract includes the expansion, general refurbishment, operation and maintenance of the routes.

“With the early completion of the construction phase of one of the busiest routes in the German capital region, we have reached an important milestone,” Hubert Wetschnig, CEO of Habau, is quoted as saying in a press release. For the Mühlviertel leading company, it is the largest order in the history of the group.

The client of the project is Deges (Deutsche Unit Fernstrassenplanungs- und -bau GmbH) representing the Republic of Germany and the Autobahn GmbH des Bundes. The motorway sections were implemented, planned and built by Habau, the Dutch construction company Invesis and the Frankfurt construction company Wayss & Freytag Ingenieurbau. Among other things, 39 bridges, six parking and toilet facilities and around 20 kilometers of noise protection walls were newly built.

Important east-west connections

The A10 and the A24 near Berlin are among the busiest autobahns in Germany and the most important east-west connections in Europe. The former four-lane A10 between the Havelland and Pankow motorway triangles has been widened to six lanes over 30 kilometers. The four-lane, around 30-kilometer section of the A24 between the Neuruppin and Kremmen junctions has been completely renewed.
