Massa analyzes a tax cut for companies that use their own currencies

Massa analyzes a tax cut for companies that use their own currencies

In this sense, the official stressed that the great challenge of the Government is that no Argentine company that generates added value to the economy lacks dollars.

“I am going to propose the elimination of double taxation for those who enter the system with their dollars. This will allow them to formalize any savings they may have, without paying taxes to add an incentive that in some way puts them in value parity with respect to the exchange rate of the free exchange market”said Massa.

For its part, CGERA proposed five projects to boost production and employment to the head of the Palacio de Hacienda.

On the one hand, they proposed that the industry be granted the same benefits for the externalization of external assets, which construction and real estate development activities already have.

“This has already been sanctioned in the 2023 Budget Law, which is why we request a study on the removal or reduction of taxes and/or tariffs for those who use their own currencies for imports,” said CGERA.

Imports, taxes and employment: dialogue with industrialists

Massa met with industrial entrepreneurs to talk about imports, labor training and interest rate reduction

The document also proposes readjusting the SIRA system for authorizing the payment of imports with dollars at the official price.

In this sense, the request of the industrial center was to create “a Foreign Trade Administration through affidavits from companies that import inputs and/or raw materials for the industrialization of products”.

This system would consist of an affidavit every 30 days from the SMEs that need to import an input or raw materials, which are not produced in the country, for the manufacture of their final product and that this or these do not exceed 25 percent of their billing in the same period.

“If it is necessary for the import to be for 60 days of billing or a slight increase in the percentage approved by the resolution or regulation, the company must provide justification confirming the request. It is intended that SMEs access imports to produce and avoid overbilling and speculation”, they indicated from CGERA.

In addition, they requested “training of unemployed labor in trades”.

“That is because we find ourselves with people who have never worked with new technologies,” said Marcelo Fernández, head of the entity.

“More than 200,000 workers have retired in this described period, which has meant that they have not only been replaced, but have also trained someone to replace them,” estimated the SME center and stressed the need to meet with the Ministry of Social Development.

In response to this point, the head of the Palacio de Hacienda assured that “It is necessary to transform social programs into formal employment.”

Regarding imported and exported merchandise, a joint work scheme was proposed with the General Directorate of Customs for the control and verification of operations.

In turn, they promoted the creation of an SME Forum to resolve queries that users and businessmen in the sector may have.

Lastly, the possibility arose of creating trading companies or hubs for Argentine products in countries of the region that do not have a direct importer.

Inflation: the claim of the CGRA and the response for inflation.

On the other hand, from CGERA they stated that the expectation for the final part of the year will necessarily be marked by some macro variables in addition to the lack of inputs, among them, inflation and interest rates that after the increase in recent months made it more expensive credit for companies.

“In the case of credit policy, you know that the interest rate has a direct consequence of what inflation is, our great responsibility is to lower inflation so that the interest rate lowers,” Massa indicated.
