World Cup 2022: “One Love” logo replaces Rewe on DFB sponsor wall

After sponsor Rewe withdrew, the German Football Association replaced its logo on the billboard in the national team’s World Cup media center in Al-Shamal with the “One Love” symbol. The retail company Rewe had ended its cooperation with the DFB due to FIFA’s decision to ban the wearing of the “One Love” armband. The contract with the DFB would have expired at the end of the year anyway. The “Bild” newspaper first reported on the change on the billboard on Friday.

All other sponsors continued their cooperation with the DFB and supported the association in the dispute with the world football association over the symbolic captain’s armband.
