Schwarzmüller closes the central warehouse in Linz

In April 2016, Schwarzmüller relocated its central warehouse from its headquarters in Freinberg in the Schärding district to Linz. The location at the port of Linz, which had been operated by the logistics company Gebrüder Weiss, has now been closed. The warehouse had an area of 2500 square meters, 2000 pallet spaces and around 6000 parts. From there, own plants and branches were supplied and service partners and customers in Central and Eastern Europe were served.

From now on, the five other Austrian service locations that have spare parts in stock will be pushed instead, the company says. These are in Vienna, Wels, Mäder (Vorarlberg), Kramsach (Tyrol) and Lieboch (Styria). “This makes the route to the customer even shorter,” Schwarzmüller boss Roland Hartwig is quoted as saying in a press release. The location in Lieboch acts as the superordinate spare parts warehouse. The one in Wels specializes in tankers, which are often repaired and serviced there.

In Germany, the leading company has set up a second warehouse at the subsidiary Hüffermann in Brandenburg in addition to the Franconian Eltmann. Warehouses are being planned in the Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia. Schwarzmüller recently had a turnover of 409 million euros with 2150 employees.
