The Chief Financial Officer of the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB), Arnold Schiefer, will not fulfill his contract, which runs until March 2024, and will leave the company early in the course of the coming year.
Infrastructure Minister Leonore Gewessler (Greens) is said to not be happy with membership in a fraternity, but the 55-year-old cannot be accused of anything technically. Schiefer’s position will be re-advertised in December.
When asked by OÖN, Schiefer confirmed that he – without naming names – would switch to a “large Upper Austrian transport company”. But he will stay until the successor has been settled, which could be summer.
