The Government projects a record of US5,000 million and launches a promotion plan

The prospects for 2023 are encouraging. As anticipated by official sources to Ámbito “an increase is projected driven by greater exports of services that will allow us to achieve a new all-time high of US$105,000 million”. The estimate will be part of the data that Cafiero and Todesca Bocco will put on the table in the Libertador room of the Palacio San Martín, when they present the National Export Promotion Plan 2023 to businessmen.

As this medium was able to find out, the initiative contains a series of actions aimed at increasing and diversifying the Argentine exportable offer to the world through participation in international fairs, business rounds and trade missions. Technological supply workshops and sectoral positioning actions will also be promoted. Among the objectives of the plan, the promotion of small and medium-sized companies and the search to add value at source stand out, where the knowledge economy appears as one of the star sectors.

In the Government they explain that the plan constitutes a continuity of the goals proposed by the Argentine foreign policy in the Export Plan 2022. The planned activities arise from the work agreed between the public and private sectors, through the participation of business chambers from various sectors of the economy within the framework of the Public-Private Council for the Promotion of Exports.

From the Foreign Ministry they highlighted that “the increase in Argentine exports means the possibility of continuing to finance the growth of our country, and constitutes a fundamental policy for the generation of quality employment.” At the same time, they pointed out that this brings benefits for workers because “companies that make the leap from the local market to the exporter pay better wages.”

If the government forecasts are confirmed, 2023 will be the third consecutive year of growth in exports. All guns will be on that. Beyond the initiatives that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will launch this week, Economy Minister Sergio Massa has already anticipated that he will continue to “promote” those sectors that can increase their export capacity.
