The European branch of the international airport association ACI has sharply criticized the corona restrictions imposed by several countries for travelers from China. These steps are “scientifically unjustified” and “uncoordinated,” according to a statement published by the association on Saturday.

More and more countries are introducing mandatory tests for travelers to China
These measures did not work, complained the head of the European association, Olivier Jankovec. The precautions to ensure that such measures would be taken in a coordinated manner in the EU had “once again failed”.
ACI Europe represents more than 500 airports in Europe. In response to the drastic increase in corona infections in Europe, the EU states Italy and France as well as Great Britain have imposed a corona test obligation for travelers from the People’s Republic. Germany, on the other hand, has so far refrained from taking such a measure. According to the Ministry of Health, no testing is currently planned in Austria either.
Corona infections in China have increased significantly since the authorities there ended their strict zero-Covid policy in early December. Since then, the corona restrictions have been significantly relaxed in the People’s Republic.
